If you look on the back of dye box, you should have a pretty good idea of how a certain dye will come out if you use it - they'll have pictures of "if your hair is this color, this is how it'll look if you use this dye"

Otherwise, most hair dye will have contact info on the back of the box (bottom right). You could contact the haircolor company by phone or through their website.
